This project will refine the Leapfrog Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE)/Electronic Health Record (EHR) test – a “flight simulator” for EHRs with CPOE which evaluates the safety performance of EHRs after deployment, with a particular focus on high impact patient safety and medication safety problems.
The Center for Education and Research on Therapeutics (CERTs) Program focused on translating health information technology research into improved clinical practices related to medication safety, effectiveness, and cost.
This project assessed the facilitators and barriers to adoption, implementation, and use of a personal health record in four practices, and evaluated the impact of various strategies on adoption and usage rates.

Performed a rigorous evaluation of the impact of a statewide implementation program on EHR adoption by rural and non-rural ambulatory care practices and its impact on medication errors and the quality of ambulatory care as a collaborative effort among providers, insurers, and businesses in cooperation with the state government.
