Presentation Title: Health Information Exchange -- The Road From Policy and Technology Decision-Making to Multi-Lateral HIE Agreement

The authors of Connecting for Health's Model Contract for Health Information Exchange explore the ways a start-up HIE can transform the essential policy decisions regarding privacy, security, user authentication and responsibility, risk management, insurance and indemnification and business associate contracting into an agreement for HIE. In addition, the authors discuss considerations for incorporating technology license terms in the agreement.
