A National Web Conference on Privacy and Security Solutions for Interoperable Health Information Exchange: Phase II

Overall Purpose:

Hear a report on the progress of the Health Information Security and Privacy Collaborative (HISPC), funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) and the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC). This national Web conference described the project's impact on reducing variations among states around privacy and security practices, policies and state laws focusing on the Phase II work (conducted June to December 2007), and on key issues identified by the state teams as focus areas for the future. In addition, leaders of two multi-state work groups-on consumer engagement and education and harmonizing state privacy law-discussed the focus of their collaborative work.
