Description:

AHRQ will host a presentation highlighting how panelists implemented patient-focused clinical decision support (CDS) tools using modern, shareable, and interoperable technologies.  During the webinar, expert speakers will share findings from their own research on how CDS tools can present healthcare providers with knowledge and patient-specific information at the point of care to enhance clinical workflow, outcomes, and quality of care. CE/CME accreditation of this activity is pending; if approved, eligible providers can earn up to 1.5 CE/CME contact hours for participating in the live webinar. 

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this Webinar, participants should be able to:

  • Discuss the historical path for developing CDS tools and the data-related issues that limit sharing CDS across organizational boundaries.
  • Identify new modalities for CDS development and implementation that offer true vendor agnostic capabilities such as service-oriented architectures (SOAs) that are capable of Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) standards.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of how shareable tools can be adapted for integration into an electronic health record (EHR) system.
