LT Stephanie R. Pitts, Ph.D., CPH
LT Pitts is a Health Scientist Administrator in the Division of Digital Healthcare Research (DHR) in the Center for Evidence and Practice Improvement (CEPI) at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) where she serves as the division’s Research Manager and as a Program Official. She is a Scientist Officer in the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps.
Prior to joining AHRQ, LT Pitts was a Social Scientist in the Center for Tobacco Products (CTP) at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) where she led multidisciplinary teams of scientists in premarket tobacco product application review, synthesized scientific research to support rulemaking, and led projects focused on the use of non-traditional data sources for surveillance. Before joining the federal government, LT Pitts was a Social and Behavioral Scientist at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory with a focus on cyber operations. She holds a Ph.D. in Preventive Medicine from the University of Southern California, where she specialized in social network analysis and health behavior.
